Building Understanding with Base Ten Blocks is a series of three books packed with base ten activities. A primary, middle and upper level collection of hands-on lessons that will excite the students and teachers alike! These books are carefully sequenced with many pictures that illustrate so that students build and discover the concepts of arithmetic that are essential for their true understanding. With understanding much less drill and practice is required for success with computational mastery as well as effective problem-solving for real world applications.

Primary Level

Introductory activities include building structures with the blocks, covering and counting the value of shapes, learning place value by building and counting, adding, subtracting with and without regrouping, and an introduction to multiplying and dividing.
