Focus on Fractions is a series of three carefully sequenced workbooks. Each 48-page book includes puzzles, review pages, and quizzes to measure student progress. Ideal for students working with a minimum of teacher direction.

Focus on Fractions Book 1 develops concepts by having the student interact with the numerous pictures and illustrations. Students divide regions and groups to understand fractional parts. The number line is introduced as a way of seeing parts of a whole.

Focus on Fractions Book 2 helps students understand addition and subtraction by posing step- by - step questions about finding a common denominator, finding common multiples and finding the least common denominator.

Focus on Fractions Book 3 begins by picturing the multiplication of a fraction by a fraction using rectangular arrays. Similar activities are used with division before rules for multiplication and division are developed.

Focus on Percent

Beginning with ratios, the student is introduced to proportions and percent. Many pictures of familiar objects help the student write ratios. Proportions are introduced with pictures of congruent regions followed by a “box method showing how to solve them. Percent is introduced with pictures of 100 equal parts.
